Scientific activity:

Paula Simões developed studies on the biology and ecology of leafhoppers (Hemiptera, Cicadellidae) associated with vineyards on an integrated pest management approach. She has participated also in studies concerning the monitoring of entomological fauna associated with disturbed salt marshes. Presently, she is working on a research project about the evolutionary divergence among populations of closely related species of cicada (Hemiptera, Cicadidae) in the Mediterranean area.
